The First Louhi Conference on Text and Data Mining of Clinical Documents (Louhi'08) is an international conference held in Turku ( Åbo ) on September 3-4, 2008. Turku is located in the South-West Finland and surrounded by the beautiful Turku Archipelago.
Louhi'08 will be of value to both academic and practitioner audiences. The primary audience will include
- researchers on clinical documentation,
- practitioners who are interested in effective use of hospital documents in hospitals and other health care agencies, and,
- developers of health and medical informatics solutions.
Louhi'08 is organized jointly by Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS); University of Turku, Department of Information Technology and Department of Nursing Science; and Åbo Akademi University, Department of Information Technologies. The organizers have gained their expertise in the conference topic while working on their shared research project on text mining of clinical documents. This Louhi project belongs to the FinnWell - Future Healthcare Technology Programme of the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes), and its focus is on intensive and occupational care patient records.
